ADAS Calibration After Windshield Replacement

What ADAS calibration is, which vehicles need it, and how we handle it on-site so your safety systems work correctly.

If your vehicle has a camera or radar sensor mounted behind the windshield, replacement isn't just a glass job — it requires ADAS recalibration to make sure those systems work correctly afterward.

What Is ADAS?

ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. It includes features like:

  • Lane departure warning and lane keeping assist
  • Forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Traffic sign recognition

On most vehicles made in the last several years, the camera or sensor that powers these systems is mounted directly behind the windshield. When the windshield is replaced, that sensor needs to be recalibrated to its new position — otherwise the system may give false alerts, fail to activate, or not work at all.

How We Handle Calibration

We confirm whether your vehicle requires ADAS calibration before we start. If it does, we perform the calibration on-site after the new glass is installed using manufacturer-specified procedures. You leave with a fully functional windshield and fully functional safety systems.

Is Calibration Covered by Insurance?

In most cases yes — ADAS calibration is included as part of the windshield replacement claim when required by the vehicle. We confirm this when we verify your coverage. Call (715) 396-1720 and we'll walk you through what your specific vehicle needs.
